I’m Nicolette Mason, a Taurus, writer, creative consultant, brand strategist, and lifelong romantic. I’ve been working in fashion, beauty, and media for nearly twenty years, writing for places like Marie Claire, Vogue Italia, Glamour, Teen Vogue, and Refinery29, and building brands and global campaigns. You might also know me from other pockets of the internet.
Loose Leaf Tea is something different. It’s slower. Softer. Full of nuance and a million caveats and personal anecdotes. A space that holds multitudes, (I hope!)
Here you’ll find explorations on fashion and personal style, beauty, identity, joy, grief, reinvention, nostalgia, and learning to love the parts of ourselves we were once taught to hide. It’s about the audacity of starting over, the soft power of style, and the long arc of becoming. It’s about leaving the party early because you want to write... or go to sleep. But also just about going to the party, because we should all be having more parties, in my opinion. It’s about finding the words — slowly, imperfectly — that express something that’s been held to close to the chest.
